A major overhaul of audit procedures has been proposed by a British MEP. Conservative legal-.affairs spokesman in the European Parliament, Sajjad Karim, said: “We are suffering from an erosion of confidence in the audit process and a suspicion in some quarters that some companies enjoy too cosy a relationship with the firms that audit them.”
