MEP Remo Sernagiotto has today joined the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Group , Europe’s fastest-growing force calling for EU reform. The news comes after Mr Fitto launched a new Conservative and Reformist movement in Italy that will mirror the ECR message of stimulating economic growth through lower taxation and helping enterprises to grow and create jobs , particularly by cutting bureaucracy.

Mr Sernagiotto , along with Mr Fitto will immediately become heavily involved in the work of the ECR – a pan European grouping with 74 MEPs from 16 EU countries. The Italian Conservative and Reformist Movement will present its logo and the program in Rome on the 16th July along with the President of the New Direction Foundation , Geoffrey Van Orden MEP .

ECR Group Chairman Syed Kamall said:

“We are delighted that Mr Sernagiotto has decided to join the ECR Group. His experience as an entrepreneur fits in very well with our view that we should support people who take a risk and want to build their own business and I am sure he will be an excellent addition to our Italian delegation under the strong leadership of Mr Fitto.

“The ECR continues to grow because we are sticking to the principles that most European people live by: hard work, support for small businesses, living within our means, and exercising power closer to the people. I look forward to welcoming more MEPs from Italy and other countries in the next coming weeks.”
