EU fishermen could expand their fishing activities to the North Pacific Ocean already this year. The EU Committee on Fisheries agreed today to give consent to membership for the fishing convention in this area. MEPs voted unanimously (26-0) in favour of the report by MEP Bert-Jan Ruissen, which proposes opening up the northern pacific to EU fisheries.

The ECR Group's shadow rapporteur, Polish MEP Adam Bielan, sees the adoption of the Digital Services Act (DSA) in the European Parliament as a great step forward towards better regulation in the digital space, including social media, online marketplaces and other online platforms, offering services to customers in the European Union. But in one area there is still a need to catch up.

Notable figures from academia will come together across three discussion panels, entitled: ‘How to properly define common European values, and how to work these values into the Treaties’, ‘How to reform the institutional system of the EU’ and ‘Change of the Treaty: How to transpose the proposed institutional form into a legal framework’.
