Romanian MEP Cristian Terheş has joined the European Conservatives and Reformists Group

The ECR is delighted to announce that Romanian MEP Cristian Terheş has joined the group.

ECR Co-Chairman Raffael Fitto said:

“It is with great pleasure that I have the honour of welcoming our latest addition to the group. Terheş MEP shares our vision of a more efficient, yet less intrusive European Union.

“During this unprecedented crisis, there has never been a more important time to come together to work towards our shared goals and ambitions. Terheş’ arrival is an important endorsement of the integral role which the ECR has undertaken in promoting a fair, open and rules-based Europe.

“We look forward to working side by side as we seek to overcome common challenges and improve citizens’ lives both in Romania and across the wider EU ECR family.”

Mr. Terheş, Member of the Romanian Christian-Democratic National Peasants’ Party (PNTCD), said: “I feel honoured to have received such a warm welcome within the ECR Group and to be part of a new political family that strives for a truly reformed European Union, one which focuses on its citizens‘ needs and respects the identity and sovereignty of the nation state. I believe in a Europe of nations that works together for the common good. I look forward to championing alongside my new colleagues a more efficient European Union.”

The ECR group is now 62 members strong and continues to strive for a reformed European Union.
