Conference: The price of weakness

Ukraine bleeds, Europe talks. While Ukraine is paying the ultimate price for our freedom, we are fighting the war with words. On Wednesday, ECR MEP Reinis Pozņaks will host a high-level conference featuring top speakers to discuss how Europe should respond to the ongoing war in Ukraine and outline key strategies to address Russian aggression.

The conference will include two panel discussions—one focusing on military strategies and the other on societal impacts.

In parallel with the conference, a social media campaign will be launched in collaboration with European human rights organizations. The campaign will raise awareness of the event and call on their followers to download the Ukrainian air raid siren app. [LINK] This initiative is designed to allow participants to experience, even briefly, the fear and uncertainty that Ukrainians live with every day.

A 20-minute film by Ukrainian producers, Nadija, will also be screened, offering a unique perspective on the ongoing situation on the ground. This true story follows a Ukrainian woman who loses her parents and fiancé during the full-scale invasion. Alone and expecting a child, she demonstrates remarkable strength and resilience, symbolising the courage of the Ukrainian people. The event will be live-streamed on the ECR Group’s Facebook page.
