Event: The Future of the North Caucasus

On Wednesday 6 November from 10:00-12:30 CET, ECR coordinator in the Committee on Foreign Affairs Anna Fotyga MEP will host an event on the future of North Caucasus, a region of diverse nations which is has fallen prey to Russia.

For the ECR Group, it’s clear that the region will not become peaceful, stable and prosperous under Russian rule. The event will examine the role of cooperation between the leaders of the various nations of the North Caucasus as an important step to achieving bright prospects for the region. The example of the Mountainous Republic of the Northern Caucasus which was operational between 1917 and 1922 be central to the discussion. Participants will include representatives from the different nations of the North Caucasus region, as well as their diasporas in Jordan, Israel, the US, Turkey and EU countries. The event will take place in SPAAK 4B001 and will be moderated by Ms Fotyga.
