Tuesday 23 January 2024 @ 13:00 - 14:30
On Tuesday, MEP Anna Fotyga will host an event focusing on the situation of the fish processing market in the EU and individual Member States.
The main aim of this event will be to discuss the Commission Delegated Regulation amending Annexes II and III to the Regulation (EC) No 853/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council as regards specific hygiene requirements for certain meat, fishery products, dairy products and eggs. Changes that include, among others, limiting the period of fish “stiffening” to a maximum of 96 hours, will have a significant impact on the fish processing sector in the EU, while affecting the competitiveness and sustainable development of large-scale fish processors in the Members States.
The seminar will be an excellent opportunity for the EU fish processing sector to present the specificity of the production process, one of the stages of which is stiffening the fillets, and to present their position on the proposed changes.
The event will be held in room SPINELLI 1H1 from 13:00 - 14:30.
