Somalian President The President of Somalia will discuss the situation in the Horn of Africa with MEPs in the Foreign Affairs and Development committees. Asylum workshop

The parliament’s press service will hold a press workshop on the EU’s Asylum Package. ECR Home Affairs spokesman and former UK Immigration Minister Timothy Kirkhope will take part.

Railway package

The European Commission is set to publish a series of measures that look at improving competition, interoperability and efficiency of rail across Europe. ECR transport spokesman Roberts Zile will argue that increased competition and improvements to the network to allow interoperability – especially for states such as Latvia – are welcome.

Network security

MEPs are holding a third trilogue meeting with council as they search for an agreement on proposals that will strengthen the role of the European Network and Information Security Agency, ENISA, against the growing threat of cyber attack. The proposals are being led through the parliament by ECR industry spokesman Giles Chichester.
