The Co-Chairmen of the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Group, Nicola Procaccini and Patryk Jaki, have congratulated their allies from ECR member party There Is Such a People (Има такъв народ, ITN) and its leader Slavi Trifonov on the successful formation of a new coalition government in Bulgaria, in which ITN will hold four ministries.

This is an important step for Bulgaria, and we wish our Bulgarian friends within the ECR family every success in delivering for the benefit of the Bulgarian people. This development reaffirms that the centre-right approach is the right one—an approach that continues to gain the trust of more and more citizens. ITN’s presence in government will help uphold strong democratic values, promote good governance, and serve national interests effectively”, said ECR Co-Chairman Nicola Procaccini.

ECR Co-Chairman Patryk Jaki added: “I extend my congratulations to our Bulgarian colleagues. ITN has consistently demonstrated a commitment to responsibility and reform. It has been a tough four years in Bulgaria and we understand that the decision to enter Government is a necessary compromise, which exhibits the statesmanship of the leaders of ITN. With its role in government, Bulgaria has an opportunity to strengthen its institutions, safeguard national interests, and contribute to a Europe that respects its nations rather than seeking to undermine them.”
