The Co-Chairmen of the ECR Group in the European Parliament, Prof Ryszard Legutko (Poland) and Nicola Procaccini (Italy), congratulate their colleagues in the Committee of the Regions on their 10th anniversary.

Prof Legutko said: “We must not forget that without regional and local governments, which are at the forefront of some of society’s greatest challenges, there would be no EU. We must constantly strengthen cooperation and fully involve local and regional authorities in decision-making processes at the EU and national levels.”

Mr Procaccini added: “Ten years in politics marks the transition from youth to maturity. We are united by the desire to represent the citizens to the best of our ability and to help strengthen the ties between individual territories and the European Union, based on a common vision of Europe as a community of nations, each with its own languages, traditions and borders.”
