The European Conservatives and Reformists Group in the European Parliament has welcomed Bulgarian Members of the European Parliament Elena Yoncheva and Taner Kabilov, from the Movement for Rights and Freedoms, to its ranks as allied members.
The ECR Group now consists of 84 Members of the European Parliament, further strengthening its role within the European Parliament.
ECR Co-Chairman Nicola Procaccini said:
“We are delighted to welcome Elena Yoncheva and Taner Kabilov to the ECR family. They bring valuable political experience and share our commitment to a Europe that respects its nations, protects its citizens and defends freedom. The continued growth of our Group is an encouraging signal that we will play an even more important role in the future.”
ECR Co-Chairman Patryk Jaki added:
“The ECR Group continues to grow because it offers a political home for those who believe Europe needs common sense, respect for national sovereignty and practical solutions. We are pleased to welcome our Bulgarian colleagues and look forward to working closely with them in the years ahead.”
New ECR MEP Elena Yoncheva, said:
“I am happy to have found my new political home in the ECR. Strong nations are not the enemy of peace. Very often, they are its strongest guarantee. That is why I chose to join the ECR. I believe that Europe is strongest when it is built on strong, democratic and confident nations. A strong Member State is one that can protect its citizens, defend its borders, preserve its identity and contribute to a stronger Europe.”
New ECR MEP Taner Kabilov said:
“I believe the ECR Group is the political family that best reflects my convictions about responsibility, security and a Europe Union that delivers for its citizens. The ECR stands for a serious and realistic approach to Europe’s challenges, with respect for national identity, democratic choice and the concerns of ordinary people.
