The European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Group welcomes the signing of the peace agreement for Gaza as a decisive step towards stabilising one of the most troubled regions in the world.
During the plenary session in Strasbourg, ECR Co-Chairman Nicola Procaccini drew MEPs’ attention to the news of the freshly signed agreement, noting that, for once, the Parliament could celebrate good news instead of debating another crisis.
In a statement, the two Co-Chairmen of the ECR Group underlined the significance of the deal.
Nicola Procaccini said:
“The signing of the agreement for the peace plan in Gaza represents a decisive step towards stabilising one of the most troubled areas on the planet. This result was made possible by President Donald Trump’s decisive commitment to proposing an effective peace plan, strongly supported by the Italian government.
“The celebrations in Tel Aviv and Gaza are the most vivid testimony to the success of a president often surrounded by prejudice, whose effective action is part of the long tradition of conservative US presidents — usually dedicated to ending conflicts rather than starting them.”
Patryk Jaki said:
“What many said was impossible has now been achieved. This agreement shows that peace does not come from speeches or slogans, but from leadership and resolve.
“President Trump has restored hope to millions by linking peace with security, and by proving that real determination can still change the course of history.”
The ECR Group believes the agreement opens a new chapter for peace and reconstruction in the Middle East, offering both Israelis and Palestinians the prospect of lasting stability after years of conflict.
