ECR MEP Emmanouil Fragkos strongly condemns the aggression of Turkey in the Mediterranean

ECR MEP Emmanouil Fragkos strongly condemns all acts of aggression of Turkey in the Mediterranean. Incidents jeopardising international security and sovereignty of states should be acted upon.

“Turkey is the single largest threat to the security in the Eastern Mediterranean, to the mineral wealth of Greece, to the disrespecting of the Exclusive Economic Zone of Cyprus. Turkey also is not respecting human rights,” states Greek ECR MEP Emmanouil Fragkos, “Since concrete steps need to be taken to stop Turkey from putting at risk international peace, the European Union needs to halt assistance to Turkey and defend the sovereignty of EU member states.”

The European Union should stand in full solidarity with the affected states and use its leverage to stop the Turkish aggression.
