The Week Ahead - 17th-21st February

17th - 21st February: Trans-European Energy Networks (TEN-E) and the Exhibition 'Immortal Truth'

Trans-European Energy Networks (TEN-E)

On Tuesday, the ITRE committee will vote on a resolution for a Revision of the guidelines for trans-European energy infrastructure.

The Trans-European Energy Networks (TEN-E) Regulation identifies priority corridors and thematic areas of trans-European energy infrastructure, providing guidelines for the selection of Projects of Common Interest (PCIs). The ECR is concerned that the revision could be used as a pretext to exclude natural gas projects from its scope. The ECR also opposes any attempts to disrespect the existing legal order.

When: Tuesday 18 February @ 10.00

Where: JAN 4Q2

Exhibition ‘Immortal Truth’

On Tuesday, two years after the murder of journalist Ján Kuciak, killed in Slovakia on February 21st 2018, and more than two years after the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia, killed in Malta on October 17th 2017, ECR MEP Lucia Ďuriš Nicholonová and EPP MEP David Casa are organising an exhibition to commemorate the two investigative journalists that were brutally killed because of their commitment to revealing the truth.

The exhibition “Immortal Truth” will take place in the presence of the families of Daphne Caruana Galizia and Ján Kuciak, who will share their stories. An art installation, dedicated to the two journalists, will be offered to the European Parliament with a kind request that it be permanently exhibited at the entrance of the European Parliament’s Pressroom as a commemorative reminder.

When: Tuesday 18 February @ 12.00

Where: Bar Area 3D, ASP building
