Eastern Partnership report in the run-up to 2020 summit
On Tuesday, the Committee on Foreign Affairs is going to vote on the long-term policy objectives for the future cooperation between the EU and Ukraine, Georgia, Moldova, Armenia, Azerbaijan and Belarus, ahead of the Eastern Partnership Summit to be held on 18 June. The ECR group strongly believes in the need to enhance relations with our Eastern partners and bring them closer to the EU, whilst supporting democratic reforms, economic development and resilience towards hostile Russian propaganda.
Farm to Fork Strategy
On Wednesday, the European Commission will present the long-awaited Farm to Fork strategy for European agriculture. The Commission will also come up with a new EU Biodiversity Strategy on Wednesday. The ECR believes that the European farmers’ position within the product chain must be strengthened especially under these current COVID-19 circumstances. The import of agricultural products that do not meet EU requirements should also be reduced.
