Debate with opposition leader Tsikhanouskaya on Belarus

On Monday, the Foreign Affairs committee and the subcommittee on Human Rights will hold a joint exchange of views on the current situation in Belarus with Sviatlana Tsikhanouskava, the leading opposition figure and founder of the Belarusian Coordination Council. The ECR has chosen the democratic opposition in Belarus, represented by Ms. Tsikhanouskaya, as its nominee for the 2020 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought.

When: Monday @ 1.45 pm

EU Commission presents asylum and migration pact

On Wednesday, a week earlier than expected, the European Commission will present its long-awaited proposal for a new European Asylum and Migration Pact. For the ECR Group, the plans must meet three essential conditions: the right of asylum to belong to those fleeing persecution and war, protection of EU borders and the interests of European citizens, to avoid falling back into the deceptive logic of immigration ideologists.

When: Wednesday

Committee Debate of the new asylum and migration pact
