The week ahead 5th - 9th December 2016

5th - 9th December 2016. Firearms. Emissions Trading Scheme. Sakharov nominee Mustafa Dzhemilev. Localisation of data hearing. By Africa, For Africa.

Firearms

The parliament, council and commission will try to find a workable agreement on EU Firearms legislation, with ECR rapporteur Vicky Ford working to ensure that any agreement found respects the rights of legal firearms owners including museums, military re-enactors and those involved in the film industry. In addition, the talks aim to close a loophole which allowed certain firearms to be considered as deactivated when in reality they were readily able to be reactivated. Such weapons were used in last year’s Paris terrorist attacks.
A press conference has been scheduled for Tuesday morning.
