ECR Autumn University The ECR Group will hold its second Autumn University meeting, with discussions focusing on ‘Security for Europe’. The Autumn University was set up by Chairman Syed Kamall, arguing that to change the EU needs new ideas to be put on the table. The conference in Italy brings together MEPs with academics, think tanks, Italian experts and others to discuss a number of themes and ideas.

Autumn University: Tuesday to Thursday
Emissions committee
Back in Brussels, the emissions inquiry committee will meet once again to hear from two more former EU commissioners – Potočnik and Tajani – who were responsible for car emissions legislation, following
last week’s meeting with Mr Verheugen.
ECR lead MEP on the inquiry, Hans-Olaf Henkel, has argued that ill-defined EU legislation played a role in the recent revelations.

Savchenko
ECR human rights spokesman Mark Demesmaeker will co-host a visit of Nadiya Savchenko, former Ukrainian pilot held in Russia. Mr Demesmaeker will co-host a press conference with her on Wednesday @ 17.00 in the EP press conference room.
Morocco’s role in security
Chairman of the parliament’s security and home affairs subcommittee Anna Fotyga will host a hearing on the role of Morocco in strengthening security and stability in the Med. Speakers include the Moroccan Interior Minister.
