Presentation of the Sakharov Prize nominees

On Monday, the Committees on Foreign Affairs and Development and Human Rights will jointly hold the presentation of the candidates for the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought 2022. The ECR Group has nominated President Volodymyr Zelenskyy as the face of Ukraine’s bold resistance to brutal Russian aggression. His nomination is to honour all the brave Ukrainians who are defending our common European values against dictatorship and oppression.

Monetary Dialogue with ECB President Lagarde

On Monday, the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs will hold a monetary dialogue with ECB President Christine Lagarde, where Mr Van Overtveldt and Mr Jurzyca will take the floor on behalf of the ECR Group and interrogate Ms Lagarde about the ECB’s recent monetary policy decisions.

“Armed against communism” - screening and discussion

On Tuesday, ECR MEP Alexandr Vondra, together with the Informal Group on European Remembrance, will host a screening of the documentary “Armed against communism”. This will be followed by a discussion with Josef Mašín, Czech 90-year-old hero of the armed resistance.
