Continuation of the ECR Group's European Tour: "Europe’s Future: A New Hope". Fifth stop: The Hague
Crisis after crisis, the EU gains more competencies and a larger budget. Whether it is the financial crisis, climate crisis or the more recent pandemic - it appears federalists welcome every new problem as a justification for strengthening EU-powers. However, there is a limit to expanding the EU at the expense of national competencies. Certain things are better dealt with at the national level. A realistic middle ground between a federal EU and no EU is that of a more flexible EU. It is high time to consider the question: how far will we go with European integration? And if we feel we have reached a limit, what alternatives are there?
On Thursday evening, the ECR Group’s live broadcast “Europe’s Future: A New Hope, The Hague” will feature ECR Co-Chairman Raffaele Fitto, President of the ECR Institutional Policy Working Group Prof. Zdzisław Krasnodębski, in addition to ECR MEPs Bert-Jan Ruissen, Cristian Terheş, Ruža Tomašić, Dutch policymakers and businessmen.
Live broadcast: Thursday 1 April @ 19:30 CET
