On Tuesday morning, the Industry Research and Energy Committee and the Culture and Education Committee will question Ms Ivanova to asses her credentials and suitability for the position. Hailing from Bulgaria, Ms Ivanova is the Commissioner-designate for innovation, research, culture, education and youth. The ECR Group supports Iliana Ivanova’s candidacy.

Prepare the ground for Ukraine NATO membership

On Thursday morning, a joint meeting of the Foreign Affairs and Security and Defence committees will hold an exchange of views with NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg. The ECR Group firmly supports Ukraine’s euro-Atlantic integration. It is clear that the European Union should support Ukraine’s economic recovery and do all it can to help strengthen the country’s defence capabilities. In addition, it is crucial that the defence capabilities of all NATO members are strengthened.
