The ECR Eurolat Policy Group is an initiative seeking to launch a Summit between the EU and Latin America to fight the threat of narco-communism and dictatorship in the Latin American the region.

Based on the Carta de Madrid, the Policy Group was born as a response of the ECR Group family to the European Parliament’s lack of effectiveness in collaborating with the countries of Latin America. Its mission is to support the efforts of the ECR Group in this area and, thus, guarantee the opening of new, fruitful channels and alliances between the ECR Group’s member parties and interest groups in Iberoamerica. This Policy Group will be responsible for examining the different policies and actions that the European Union is carrying out in relation to the Latin American continent and, fundamentally, proposing new ones.
