A key highlight was the presentation of the ECR Group’s exclusive survey “Perception of the Automotive Sector’s Crisis in Europe”, conducted by Polling Europe. The survey, based on responses from 5,000 citizens across all 27 EU Member States, revealed critical findings. On behalf of the ECR Group, the research company Polling Europe carried out a survey to analyse the views of European public opinion on the European public opinion of the difficulties facing the automotive sector. The survey, conducted between 28 November and 7 December, is based on a sample of 5,000 citizens from the 27 EU countries, distributed across the Member States in proportion to population size, and is therefore representative of public opinion in the European Union.

The results highlight the widespread doubt among European citizens about EU policies aimed at banning new internal combustion engine cars by 2035 and promoting the use of biofuels.
