Film Screening: Under the Grey Sky

On Wednesday, 18 June, ECR MEPs Michał Dworczyk, Małgorzata Gosiewska, and Adam Bielan invite guests for a special screening of the film Under the Grey Sky, followed by a discussion on the ongoing repression of political prisoners and the legal profession in Belarus.

The film seeks to draw attention to the increasingly dire human rights situation in Belarus, where journalists, opposition activities and legal professionals continue to face state-sponsored persecution.

Inspired by the true story of Belarusian journalist Katsyaryna Andreeva and her husband Igor Ilyash, Under the Grey Sky depicts the personal toll political activism can take—while serving as a powerful reminder of why such courage remains essential. Though rooted in the Belarusian context, the film resonates far beyond, raising urgent questions about democracy, repression, and freedom of expression across borders.

The keynote address will be delivered by Agnieszka Romaszewska-Guzy, former Director of Belsat TV and current head of the Solidarity Zone Foundation.

When: Wednesday 18 June @ 16:30

Where: WEISS S3.4, European Parliament, Strasbourg.
