A Fair Green Transition: Leaving No One Behind in EU Sustainability Efforts

On Thursday, ECR MEP Gheorghe Piperea will host a conference to discuss what is needed to achieve a fair and equitable green transition within the EU.

As the European Union navigates the complexities of the Green Deal, it is crucial to address the balance between advancing sustainable energy initiatives and continued reliance on fossil fuels during this transformative period. On Thursday, ECR MEP Gheorge Piperea will host a conference on “A Fair Green Transition: Leaving no one behind in the EU’s sustainability efforts”. The event will bring together leading politicians and representatives of the energy and justice sectors from Romania and other countries. The main objective is to promote a substantive and fruitful dialogue on how to achieve a just green transition in the EU. Speakers will also explore the new EU Directive 2024/1760 on Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence, which aims to ensure that all companies respect human rights and freedoms in their operations. The conference will share best practices and identify concrete steps to ensure that no Member State is left behind in the transition to greener energy solutions.
