Wednesday 15 April @ 10:30-12:30 CET
On Wednesday, ECR MEP Chiara Gemma will host a seminar exploring new approaches to supporting autistic people beyond traditional care models.
April is Autism Awareness Month, and there could be no more meaningful occasion to address, at European level, a challenge that is becoming increasingly urgent for our healthcare and social care systems: the rapid rise in autism diagnoses and the growing unsustainability of traditional care models. Through the contributions of international experts from universities and research institutions across Europe, the seminar proposes a paradigm shift: from diagnosis as the primary gateway to services, towards an approach grounded in individual functional needs and supported by digital technologies. This event is an important opportunity for dialogue between science, policy and lived experience, with a view building more equitable and sustainable autism support systems across Europe.
