Wednesday 6 May @ 10:30–12:30 CET
On Wednesday 6 May, Veronika Vrecionová (ECR), together with colleagues from EPP and Renew, and with MEP Carlo Fidanza (ECR) among the speakers, will host an event dedicated to one of the most sensitive and politically relevant questions in the future Common Agricultural Policy (CAP 2028–2034): degressivity and capping of direct payments.
The discussion aims to open a constructive and honest debate on how to ensure a fairer distribution of support, while maintaining a competitive and resilient agricultural sector across the EU. At a time when generational renewal, market pressures and public expectations are increasing, the question is no longer whether to act, but how to design measures that deliver real results.
Bringing together representatives from EU institutions and leading experts, the event will explore the Commission’s approach, its potential impact across Member States, and possible compromise solutions.
The objective is clear: to move beyond slogans and contribute to a more balanced, realistic and forward-looking CAP.
