On Wednesday 4 December, ECR MEP Fernand Kartheiser and the ECR Group will host an event on the topic of "Protecting Freedom of Speech from Digital Platforms and Censorship Legislation".

Michael Shellenberger will be the guest speaker at the event.

Mr Shellenberger is a professor, the author of books such as Apocalypse Never and San Fransicko, and a journalist who has written on a wide range of topics including free speech, homelessness, and the environment. In December 2022, following the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk, Michael Shellenberger was one of the Twitter Files investigative journalists tasked with looking into censorship practices at the social media company.
