On Wednesday, ECR MEP Aurelijus Veryga will host a high-level discussion on COVID-19 prevention and respiratory health in Europe.

This even will bring together MEPs, public health experts, clinicians, patient advocates and civil society representatives.

As COVID-19 moves from pandemic to endemic disease, prevention efforts and political attention risk weakening, despite its continued impact on vulnerable populations and Europe’s health systems. Coinciding with EU Respiratory Day and the start of the autumn/winter respiratory virus season, the event will explore how Europe can maintain effective prevention, preparedness and health-system resilience.

Building on the work of the COVID Transition Initiative (CTI), the discussion will focus on turning expert recommendations and patient perspectives into concrete policy commitments at European level.
