On Tuesday, 15 September, the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR) Group will host a special commemorative event in Strasbourg honouring King Jan III Sobieski.
he event will include a ceremony to name the ECR Group meeting room WEISS N1.3 in his honour, a historical exhibition and a Polish Hussar parade. King Jan III Sobieski was the elected King of Poland from 1674 to 1696 and a renowned military leader who played a decisive role in defeating the Ottoman forces at the Battle of Vienna in 1683. The ceremony will be preceded by the opening of the Sobieski historical exhibition at 14:00. The exhibition will be open to visitors at the European Parliament in Strasbourg from 14 to 17 September.
