Wednesday November 5 @ 11:00 - 13:00
On Wednesday, ECR MEP Chiara Gemma will host a conference to launch the new book, Teaching in Europe: The Teaching Profession in the European Education Area (Studium Edizioni, 2025).
The Teaching Profession in the European Education Area (Studium Edizioni, 2025) includes a foreword by the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola.
This event provides a valuable opportunity to consider the future of teacher education and professional development within the context of the European Education Area, a key EU initiative designed to foster a more cohesive, skilled, and inclusive Europe.
The conference will open with a video message from President Metsola, followed by remarks from EP Vice-President Antonella Sberna. The book’s co-author, Vincenzo Cafagna (University Suor Orsola Benincasa, Naples), will present the main findings. Academics Rosabel Roig-Vila (University of Alicante), Francesco Magni (University of Bergamo) and EPP MEP Giusi Princi will join the discussion. The debate will be moderated by Brussels-based journalist Leonardo Panetta (MEDIASET).
The debate will focus on quality, innovation and recognition in the teaching profession, exploring how European cooperation can strengthen teachers’ skills, enhance education systems, and encourage mutual learning between Member States.
