The French EU Council Presidency, European Security, and the EU Mediated Georgian-Russian Cease-Fire

The French EU Council Presidency, European Security, and the EU Mediated Georgian-Russian Cease-Fire Agreement of 2008. Current State and the Way Forward

Now, when Ukraine is facing a full-scale aggression by the Russian Federation, it is pertinent to focus once more on the details of the events of 2008. Batu Kutelia and Vasil Sikharulidze, who were at the helm of the Ministry of Defence in 2008, and are some the most credible witnesses of these events, prepared a report in which they combined their political experience, personal courage and analytical skills.

The French Presidency, but also the collective West, should draw conclusions from the 2008 War and ceasefire negotiations in order to unconditionally and permanently stop the Russian aggressor.

Please join us on Wednesday 23rd March 2022 at 14h00 to discuss the report: The French EU Council Presidency, European Security, and the EU Mediated Georgian-Russian Cease-Fire Agreement of 2008. Current State and the Way Forward.

The presentation of the report will be web-streamed on Twitter.
